My goal for 2010

I was inspired by Jolene. So my one word goal for the new year is "CREATE"

Create a wonderful home environment for my family and me

  • I have never been the domestic diva. I am totally envious of friends who can decorate and style their homes to make it all cozy and welcoming. I think this should change for our next home in Colorado Springs (however short time we will be there).
  • Hang all those family photos that we took in Malaysia recently.

Create more music.

  • Kat has been asking me to teach her how to play the piano.
  • I should schedule some me time to play the piano myself. It's always been a way for me to relax. Dear hubby bought me a fancy digital keyboard many years ago, but I never play it. Instead it is the kids' play toy (imagine really loud banging!)
  • Play more music on the stereo and go crazy dancing with the kids

Create more fun times, and document them :-)

  • I have been doing pretty good with this here in New Mexico. I joined the local Moms Club and gone to the local library, community centers, etc for kids activities. We have also done quite a number of activities and day trips during the weekends. But of course, we can always do better.
  • The one thing lacking is one on one time with the kids. We have noticed Kat whining more and acting out more, and definitely it is because she wants to get out attention and spend more time with us. Even Chloe too, though I think it is because of the terrible-2s. Sigh...
  • I need to blog more. I have been blogging lesser these days, in part because of Facebook. Sometimes it is easier to update my status and post pics there.
  • Take more photos! I love our new digital camera. It is so tiny and compact so it goes everywhere with us. I am still dreaming of a digital SLR, but I know that I will never lug it around because 3 kids and a diaper bag is just way too much to handle already =)
  • I would love to create a photo album at the end of the year (more likely in early 2011) documenting the highlights of the year. If I do this every year, I would have a whole neat library of photo albums.

Create more and consume less

  • I would love to be more crafty. I have thoughts about buying a sewing machine. I could save so much money, I think. Just today I brought hubby's new pants to be hemmed, and it costs me $12!!!
  • My friend Jennifer is making tutus and selling them on Etsy. They are so... cute! I would love to learn how to make some of my own for my girls. By the way, do check out her Etsy shop .... http://www.etsy.com/shop/thedragonflyprincess
  • Creating a garden is also on my list of to-dos this spring/summer. I think it would be a fun project with the kids
  • Decluttering this past week, I found so many things that I either am giving away or just throwing out. I am now thinking about ways to recycle/reuse things instead.

Create more yummy healthy home-cooked food

  • Cook more and learn to cook well. My mom is a good cook. Unfortunately I inherited my dad's genes in this aspect (i.e. not a good cook)
  • To eat more organic products, if possible

Create a healthier me!

  • I need to get into an exercise schedule. I feel tired and that is not good. These past few nights have been very unproductive because I felt so lazy and lethargic. Need to get a kick in the bootie and start being more active.
  • I just downloaded the 'Lose It' application to my phone. This app lets me document what I have been eating and how many calories they are. This should keep me in track to lose 1 pound a week. There - I said it - lose 1 pound a week until I reach my target weight of 115lbs!!! I have not been doing good though. Today is the second day and I just found out that the combination Lo Mein I have been eating is 1500 calories a serving. What??!!

Create new and stronger friendships

  • My wish is that I would reach out to at least one friend a week. It could be a phone conversation, an email, an IM, etc..

Create income

  • Being a SAHM, I do sometimes feel guilty about not contributing anything directly to the family income. So this year, I aim to do some research to find out ways which I can supplement some income to our little family. If not for them, for me to spend my own money to buy things for myself, my kids and hubby.

So that's my goal for the year. How about yours? ;-)

That is a list of some great goals there. It is truly very wonderful to have goals. Unfortunately, at the moment, I am aimless and directionless. :(

Like Siew said, I am actually pretty aimless and directionless at the moment. I do have some "resolutions" but often get distracted with the business of life!
