summer 09...

Summer has come and gone.

Oh how I miss the summer activities and yet so glad that Kat is back in school. She was getting bored, and was becoming glued to the TV. I swear her eyes were quite square at summer end. Hahaha!

We didn't go any where for our summer vacation because we had so many things going on, and also because we will be going back to Malaysia in November.

But we did do day trips and also little activities here and there.

Summer started with us looking for a house. We sold our home in California and we found a place here in Albuquerque instead :-) It is a larger square footage, and we are still getting used to it. I have to send the kids off to play in the play room instead of playing in the family room. Haha! And I still haven't got them to sleep in their own rooms instead. Sigh...

So there was the packing of the stuff from the rental house, and then moving and unpacking (again!). As of today, my garage is still half full of boxes waiting for me to unpack them. I am in denial tonight, and am not touching any :-)

Kat has been asking for some alone time with me, so I took her horse riding at a local horse ranch here. The trip was organized by the local Moms' Club. That was very cool. We had to scoop horse poop as our chore as the ride was free. It is a non-profit organization that takes in horses that other people doesn't want any more.

We went to the zoo, the Natural History Museum of New Mexico, Hot Air Balloon Museum, etc.
We also made a trip to Jemez Falls and Santa Fe. We hung out at the children's play area at the mall, where they also had a carousel. Kat still had her dance class that she loves. And with a bigger backyard with a play structure that Daddy built, the kids were spending time there too. And of course, we went swimming at a couple of swim complexes/pool.

We also had our first visitors! Kat's best friend from CA came to visit with her mom and grandma, and we had a great time catching up.

Kat also attended gymnastic camp for 2.5 weeks during the house move, just to get her occupied with something. She loved it! And not she is asking for gymnastic classes. Will have to see how she is coping with school and homework, and how I am coping with her schedule!

Photos to be posted in my next post :-)
