One night at about 9pm as we were trying to put the kids to bed, we suddenly heard our doorbell ring.
Who could it be? It took us a couple of minutes to get to the door, and so we heard it ring another time. This time we saw the shadow of someone rushing by the door.
We found a plate of Halloween cupcakes with the note above by the door!
"You have been ghosted! The tradition is fun, and we hope you'll repeat. Take the ghost and pin it to your door, to let others know, you need ghosted no more. Now it's your duty to pass on the surprise, to 2 more families, we must advise. Gather some treats and deliver them soon, within 2 nights, under the light of the moon. Include a ghost with each package you give, along with this poem for the tradition to live."
The kids loved the cupcakes, of course. And wondering which neighbor ghosted us.
I feel so bad, because there had been so much going on and So I didn't get a chance to go out to buy some Halloween treats until 4 days later. Hubby was put in charge of the 'ghosting' the 2 houses. He did to it to our neighbors (whom K promptly asked the next morning, how the treats tasted). And I still have one more plate sitting on my kitchen counter still. Hmmm..... Someone has not completed his job, I think.
