Settling in our new home

We have officially moved to the East Coast!

Hi everyone,

Our little family of 5 are slowly but surely settling down here in Massachusetts. Note: It took me a long while to figure out how to spell our new state. Double 's' at the start and double 't' at the end :)

From Colorado, we flew here and stayed at a hotel for a week, waiting for our things to arrive. The kids had a blast staying there because they got to swim everyday in the indoor pool! But we were glad to move into our new home.

We had our first visitor the very first day - Tropical Storm Irene! It was a little scary preparing for the Hurricane to hit. Luckily, it turned into a storm and there was no damage to the house and our power stayed one. However our Internet service was disrupted for almost 3 days. Poor hubby had to work from a hotel lobby for their free wifi one day.

The power was out at hubby's work and also at Kathryn's school. So school was delayed for a week. The closest grocery store was also just running on generators and so was not selling any perishable items. We were eating lots of canned food those few days! And restaurants that were open were really busy....

Ok.. here are some photos of us here in MA

Tropical storm Irene - The wind was really blowing out there (50 miles per hours)

We only had some medium sized branches fall off

We found a toddler playground which the kids love, especially since their play set is still not up yet

We are visited the main library, which is supposedly the first free public library in the nation. The kids had a blast playing with the trains and train table, doll house, puppets, and then check out books. Kathryn got her first very own library card

First Day of school for Kathryn. To start off her year as a 3rd grader, I let her decorate her own lunch bag with stickers.
