Hubby was home from Wednesday onwards, and we took the opportunity to declutter the house. OMG! We still have so much junk. Junk that we have been lugging around with us since California. We donated 9 bags of clothes, a box of shoes and a box of diapers today. And my friend noted: "You guys just moved here fairly recently, so all these things must have moved with you!" And yes they did.....
Other than the decluttering that is quite therapeutic, we enjoyed having a relatively quiet Thanksgiving. I made a breakfast casserole to start off the day. Lunch was roast chicken from Costco accompanied by green bean casserole, honeyed carrots, roasted green beans, and mashed potatoes. We then headed off to Denver to Auntie Lily's home for a potluck dinner. I made a marshmallow sweet potato bake for the party. Utterly fattening!
For you who are not familiar with our friend Auntie Lily, she has a food blog with many yummy recipes. Do visit her blog at http://www.lilyng2000.blogspot.com/ :) She is a really friendly lady who LOVES to cook.
The kids watched loads of TV and movies. Aiden is addicted to Toy Story right now (1 & 3; We don't have #2), and also Cars Toon on you tube. He also watches these on YouTube and guess where he does this? On my phone!! Unfortunately he still does not know how to press play, and will randomly press on the screen.
Speaking of which, I let him watched YouTube on my computer the other day, and he did the funniest thing. The episode paused, and Aiden being so used to my IPhone decides that the next course of action would be to continually press on my computer screen until the episode plays again. Hahaha!!!! And when it did start, he triumphantly held his hands up and yelled "Did!!" (meaning 'I did it!'). Ahh... he is just so darn cute.
The breakfast casserole I made with bread, half & half, ham & mushroom, cheddar cheese and some scallions. Yummy but very rich..
Our Thanksgiving lunch. We are thankful for our health, family, friends, a roof over our heads, and food to eat. Chloe was also thankful for her toys :)
We finally managed to convince this little one that it is truely winter, and she could no longer run around the house in a t-shirt and her underpants. Thankgoodness!
