They have lots of activities for the kids. Aiden and Chloe goes to Toddler time for babies up to 3 years old. The librarian reads a couple of book and rhymes to them, and they sing songs too. At the end of the session, the librarian brings out scarfs and they sing the milkshake song. Very fun!
For 3-5 year olds, they have story time followed by a craft activity. That is fun too.
Last evening, after picking Kathryn up from school, I had to go to the library to pick up a book and a movie I had on hold for me (one more thing I love about the library!). It so happened they had the Read to Paws program, where kids get to read to dogs! The dogs are trained for this purpose, so they are very calm and love kids. The girls loved it :) Meanwhile Aiden had fun listening to some books on the computer, and also playing with the toys there.
The library system have an awesome website with great links for kids. I love the Tumblebooks link they have. The kids can have books read online to them for free! They were so happy they found one of their favorites book on there - Little Pea. Do give it try :)

Then click on TumbleBooks on the bottom right corner of the link.
I don't remember the libraries in Malaysia like this. How are they now, I wonder?

| Chloe 'reading' to Quincy. She was so proud of herself. (She can't read yet, so she was showing Quincy all the different animals in her book) |

How fun!!! I never knew this about libraries in the US!! I shall have to check it out when i get back!!!
Oh, i have a story about Msian library. It's a short version.
So a friend from CO(Wendy) went to the Melaka library to borrow some books for her kids.
Wendy : i want to borrow these books.
Lib : your kids need library cards. And i need their birth cert to make library cards.
Wendy : But their birth cert is in the US
Lib : sorry that's our policy
Wendy : OK, this is my father's lib card. Can I use this to borrow the books.
Lib : Sorry, these books are childrens' books, not available to adults. Children can only borrow children books and adults can only borrow adult books.
Wendy : what if a child is advanced or is doing project in school and needs to borrow adult books.
Lib : Sorry, this is our policy!
Wendy : (ALREADY WANT TO EXPLODE) Please explain your policy. Obviously these policies needs to be changed. (And my favorite part) or how else can we maju???!!!!!
hahahhaa..
And even when i was home for a month, i knew how she felt!! hahaha!!!
