A day at the Denver Botanic Gardens

Aiden enjoying the shade. It was a very warm day. I think all of us got a tan!

Playing in the little water area at the Children's Garden.

So lovely to stroll and enjoy the beautiful flowers, sculptors and landscape.
So peaceful :)

Denver has many sculptors around the city, and there were quite a few at the Botanic Gardens

Another of the sculptors in the Garden

We recently visited the Denver Botanic Garden (DBG) for the first time. And it was a free day! No entrance fee and parking is always free. Woohoo! Now that is one advantage over museums in San Francisco Bay Area :)
The free day is part of a program ran in Denver whereby the various museums in towns offer free entrance to anyone. It used to be just Colorado residents, but it recently opened up to everyone.

Anyways, the DBG is apparently in the top 4 botanical gardens in the USA. And I can certainly see why. It was nicely laid out, clean and so beautiful. The kids and us had a great time enjoying the warm weather (a little too warm) and learning some new facts about plants as well.

DBG also has a new children's area at the top of the parking structure. In this area, kids are welcomed to see, touch and smell the various plants. Very kid friendly! And there was a little water creek area for the kids to play.

We highly recommend visiting DBG, especially on a free day ;)

We started the day with dim sum, which is always a treat. Then after DBG, boba teas to cool off. Ahhh!
