Aiden at 18 months

My little one having fun in our backyard today

Aiden is now 1.5 years old. This is such a fun age!

Thankfully, his anemia has been fixed with a 3 months prescription of iron drops. So he is just on a multivitamin drops with iron. Whew!

He is all boy i.e. a bundle of energy. Climbing here and there. But the most boy like trait he has is his temper. Oh boy... he throws the biggest tantrum ever when he is angry. His scream will make you go deaf, and he pinches and bites. We are trying to let him know that this not appropriate behaviour, and most times a good, hard long stare will let him know that. But sometimes, a spank on the hand is necessary. Half of the time however he will spank me back and do it with a 'Argh!' shout. Ack!!!!

This past 2 weeks, this little one has been ADDICTED to the movie Cars. He asks for it every single day, and can sit/stand quietly to watch almost the entire movie. So funny.

He can also say a number of words, though still in his toddler way.

For example:

Car

Dada (which all 3 kids call their Daddy now)

Mama (which all 3 kids call me now)

Che-Che (his sisters)

Poh-Poh

Kung-Kung

Ball

Dog

Bird

Nen-Nen (milk)

Juice (water or juice)

Key (he wants to get the key to the mail box)

Up

Down
Ku-Ku (his 'ah-hem' private part. The sisters thought it was funny to teach him this)

Hand (he loves to wash his hand)

Head

Nose (and sticks his fingers up your nostrils)

Eye

Chook-Chook (his porridge)

Bar-Bar (Barney)

Mo-Mo (Elmo - One of his favorites)

Baby

Edda (my friend's daughter, who we had a playdate with)

I did it! (yes, he actually did say a sentence)

Yay! (and promptly puts both hand up. This is especially when he sees me putting in his Cars movie into the DVD player)

Back (and will move back from the TV to the couch to watch his shows)

Kai-Kai (to go out)

And there are more words which I can't think of right now.

He is still very small though. His length and his head circumference is on the 3 percentile, while his weight his way below. But his doctor is happy with the progress made between his 15 month checkup and his 18 month checkup, and told me he will probably catch up to the other boys his age in 1 or 2 years time. Till then, just continue feeding him high calorie foods that he likes and get him to drink his milk and Pediasure. Cross our fingers!
