Anyhow, just wanted to let you all know how we are doing.
My little man is 15 months old. Woohoo! He is still very small for his age though. We went for his checkup and he is completely off the chart weight wise. Not a good thing :-(
So his doctor advised me to stop nursing and start him on whole milk and Pediasure, to try to boost his calorie count, in order to fatten him up.
So that was a rough week for my baby:
- he got his vaccinations
- he got poked twice for blood test
- Mommy stopped nursing him
- AND he was made to sleep in his own room
Tough, huh? So from the blood test, it turns out that Aiden is very anemic. He is now on iron drops twice a day for the next 3 months. Hubby and I never thought he was because he was never overly inactive or tired.
I must say, with the iron drops, I have noticed an increase in his energy level. This means much more climbing, walking around, etc... Basically more getting into trouble :-)
He is still very sweet though. He tries to be 'fierce' with me, e.g. shouting at me if he doesn't get his way. But give him a good long hard stare and he knows he is in trouble. He will avoid eye contact and then a minute later will try to make you laugh and will try to kiss you to say sorry.
His vocal skills have also improved.
- He can call me, his daddy, his sisters and grandma (Poh-Poh).
- He will say 'O-peh' when he wants me to open something for him
- He waves and says 'buh-be' for bye-bye
- He hugs and kisses his sisters' toy babies and calls them 'ba-be'
- He can say 'car'
- He shakes his head and says 'No'. And he now can nod his head for yes
- Food is 'Mm-Mm'
- Any drink is 'juice'
- Elmo and anybody else from Sesame Street is 'Moe'
- Barney, the purple dinosaur is 'Bar-Bar'
He is a TV junkie, just like his sisters. His favourite shows right now are Yo Gabba Gabba, Barney and Sesame Street. He loves Elmo!
Oh, there is more things to write about my little man. He is just a sweetheart and makes us all smile.
During Mother's Day dinner, he actually ate half of a corn dog, just like the one in the picture.
And he ate a couple bites of fruits with it.
I think I need to get me one of those Monkey leash backpacks for him.
He now insist of scooting down the steps in the garage, and climb into the car into his own car seat, every time we go to drop/pick up his sister from school.
