Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you!

"St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time - a day to begin transforming winter's dream into summer's magic"
- Adrienne Cook

Having graduated from Northern Ireland, I get a little sentimental about anything Irish (Erin, meaning Ireland, was one of the name I was considering when thinking of names for my girls).
I remember the last St. Paddy's I celebrated. It was my last year in Ireland, and a couple of friends and I took the bus down to Dublin for the celebrations there. There was green beer and shamrocks drawn on my face. Fun, fun, fun!

I never celebrated it again. Just never did, I don't know why.

This year, hubby and I took the kids downtown for the parade. It was a very nice day, with the sun shining and the temperature mild. We even managed to get free street parking 2 blocks from the parade! We brought our mat and sat on the street. Lunch was some yummy pastries and a slice of pizza.

It was fun watching the various floats, bands, walking groups, car clubs, and others go by. I loved seeing all the different cars, the Irish dancers, the "circus" group, and the dancing cows from Chick-Fil-A, etc. And of course there was the Comcast float! Heehee..

It was not a huge parade with huge floats like the San Francisco Chinese New Year parade. It had more of a small town feel to it, which we liked. There was not too many people, so it was less stressful. We all had a good time. I think the kid's favourite part was getting all this free candy they were giving out! Don't worry... they only had a couple and the rest I have hidden away :-)

The kids and I also made some rainbow cupcakes. There is always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, right? Kat kept talking about how if we built a leprechaun trap, we can catch one and make him give us his pot of gold. I think she is quite serious about this. LOL!

So we hope you have a great St. Patrick's Day this year!

This brings a wish your way -
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and everyday"

The whole thing was made out of steel.

Your kids are so animated, so lively!! It's awesome! :) And Kathryn looks like she's developing into a nice little young lady who's interested in many things. A good trait to have!
