It started with a trip to the local library for the first time. That was fun because they had a toddler story time there, and we stayed to play a puzzle and with the stuffed animals.
But the highlight of the day must definitely be 'rescuing' the 2 stray cats from our backyard.
We noticed them 2 days ago. I pushed our trash bin back to the backyard after the trash disposal truck left. I got a big shock when 2 kitties came rushing out from underneath our outdoor patio set (which is currently covered). It was so cold and the poor dears must have been cold and hungry, but I didn't know what to do with strays. Most of my friends would know I am not much for an animal person, unlike my hubby. Anyways, they stayed at the patio sliding door, looking longingly at the kids. The kids, of course, think they were so cute....
That night, hubby came home late. I told him about the cats and he went out to look for them. He couldn't find them though. We thought they had left.
Well, today I went out to throw trash again. And to my surprise I saw them again!
I emailed hubby asking him what to do because they must be really, really cold and hungry by now! I told them they were kittens, which of course I was wrong. Ack.
I got a box set up and put one of them in. The next thing you know, the cat jumped out of the box and there was a whole lot of shouting and screaming from me and the kids. Ahhhhh!!!!
I SOS called my hubby all panicking.
"What do I do????!!! I have a stray cat in the house!!!"
"Shoo him out!" hubby said.
Well, I managed to get a hold of the cat and put it back outside. Sorry kitties - You have to wait till hubby gets back home.
So when hubby got back home, he taped 2 boxes together and was hoping to keep the cats in there. But after putting them in there and feeding them, we agreed the box might not be able to hold the cats in for the night.
So here is a pic of the cats in their 'accommodation' for the night. Hubby drilled holes onto a cover of a plastic container. Tomorrow morning, he will send them to a local vet who said they will take them in.
