I love Fall

I love Fall...

The smell of crisp air, the beautiful yellow and red leaves on the trees, the slight chill of the air, pumpkins, and harvest decorations.

I think it might be my favourite time of the year. Maybe because it is when we have Halloween and Thanksgiving.

I remember being very pregnant with Kat. She was due November 25th, and all I could think that she would come before Thanksgiving. I was praying out loud for her to not come before Thanksgiving so I could have turkey, green bean casserole and sweet potato pie. Yes, you can say Thanksgiving is my all time favourite American holiday.

So what have we been up to lately?

Nothing much. The kids and us took turns being sick. The worst was probably me cause I was the only one with a fever. My mom has always said that I am the sickly one. True enough, every winter I catch a couple of colds.

When we are healthy enough, we try to get out and do stuff around the city. And this is what we have been up to this Fall.
  • We went to Dixon's Apple Orchard to get some yummy apple and apple cider.
  • We visited Santa Fe again. And tried the green chile cheese burger at Bobcat Bite, which is supposedly one of the top burgers in the nation. It was a very good burger and the sides were good too
  • Celebrated the Mid-Autumn festival by ordering mooncakes from Eastern Bakery in San Francisco. We took out the lanterns my mom sent me from Malaysia, and the girls paraded around our garage with them. It was just too windy outside.
  • Went to both the morning and night sessions of the Balloon Fiesta here in Albuquerque. It was great!

And on our to do list:

  • Visit a pumpkin patch.
  • Carve and decorate pumpkins
  • Decorate the house for fall.
  • Halloween!! Got the costumes for the kids. But have not decided on costumes for hubby and myself. Plus, I need to get some candy for visiting trick-a-treaters.
  • Prep for Thanksgiving. This year I will be celebrating it back home in Malaysia with the 2 younger kids. I'm thinking I should attempt to make a Thanksgiving meal back home for the family. Might have to buy some food items here to do that.

Lots that we did, and lots to do!

Do you mean Kat is not going back to Malaysia with you during Nov this year?

Kat and my hubby are coming back to the US earlier because of work and school. They will celebrate Thanksgiving in San francisco with our good friends instead.
