Today in summary...

So grandma has left. It's been a couple of weeks.

And I am glad to say that I am secretly enjoying having the house to ourselves again ;-)
My MIL was a big help, especially with our move from CA to NM. She took care of the kids and us, especially by cooking.

But I am quite liking doing things at my schedule and well, just running the house by myself. True, the kids are testing my temper quite a bit and the house is in a bit of a mess. But I am learning to be a bit more patient with them. In essence, just to enjoy my time with them and to realize what a blessing they are to me and hubby.

However, there will always be days when they drive me bonkers and I just have to chill. Today was such a day...

The 2 year old decided she would pee in her pants at least twice today - once in the car and once on the carpet; the almost 6 year old wanted to go to the Book Fair after school and then got particularly whiny as I was talking to the President of the PTA (I don't blame her because I think she needed a snack); and the baby, well, was just being a baby.

Oh yes, the 2 year old also got her hands on the markers and promptly drew on my dining table. And why were there markers? Because the eldest always never puts her things away after taking an excruciatingly long time to do her homework. And did I mention that those markers were NON-WASHABLE????!!!! And to top it off, there was tons of paperwork from school that I had to read. Arghh!!!! All these whilst I was trying to get dinner ready.

And guess what?? The 2 year old then broke the plug to bath tub drain in my bathroom!!! Haiya! I surrender......

Well, I only have myself to blame. I took it easy this morning, and didn't prep dinner like I normally do. Plus I think I haven't been drinking enough water and was probably needed a snack too.

On this rare occasion, I called hubby and sent an SOS. "Get your butt back here ASAP!"
He got the message. He got the kids their dinner and got them ready for bed. I did promise to wash the dishes too, but there is still a pile of dishes staring at me when I went downstairs just now. I pray he will wash them before I wake up tomorrow, because he knows how having dirty dishes in the sink just puts me in a bad mood right away.

Hmmpph... back to a normal routine tomorrow.

Wow, you truly have a good husband who do not mind helping out with the children.

I can identify with your day. It's worse when we are genetically programmed to keep our house neat and tidy and not being able to sit down to rest until those priorities are taken care of...

The husbands can't understand why a piece of paper out of place annoys so much...
