my daughter at dinner time

So MIL made 'mui choy' with pork a couple of days ago. Yum....
And that was dinner for the kids - the pork and some 'choy sum' with rice.

Kat was quietly eating her dinner when she made a statement:

"Mommy, I am a vegetarian today"

"That means I will only eat the vegetables. No rice! and no meat! Because vegetarian only eat veges"

Me: "Ah! Like the dinosaurs from the museum? Well, vegetarians also eat rice, because rice is from a plant"

"Really? OK, I'll eat the rice then"

After a couple of minutes....

"Mommy, vegetarians can also try meat, right? I think I'll try the meat"

After one bite....

"OK! I'm not a vegetarian any more! I am a meat-eater! So now I will only eat the meat. No rice or vege!"

Me: "Uh... OK. If that is how you feel like it today"

So what happened? She forgot about the vegetarian / meat-eater thing after watching the telly for a couple of minutes. I don't remember if she did finish her dinner though. Hmmm..

But that was certainly an interesting conversation.
