She started school last Thursday and seems to be really enjoying school. Though we still have a struggle over homework. Haha! (Today I made her do her homework alone in our home office upstairs. That seems to work)
I was so proud of her just watching her making friends with unknown kids. That is one thing I admire of her. She is not afraid to make friends, whilst I was (and still am in some ways) extremely shy.
I still am concerned about how much food she takes during the day though. Last Friday, she came home with her whole lunch virtually untouched! And when we asked her why, she said it was because some boys were distracting her in the cafeteria. Some "older" boys apparently were asking her to turn around because one boy "likes" her. Aiks! We do not need this stress right now! She is only 5!
She is the youngest in her grade at least by 3 months, because NM has a Aug/Sept cut-off eligibility date, whilst it was Dec 2nd for California. One more reason I get worried that she might not catch up with the other kids.
Crossing our fingers that she will do well and have a great school year!
School supplies. Each school will post a supply list for each grade. Things like copy paper, pencils, folders, tissue paper, etc.
