Easter 2009 (part 1)

It was a cold and wet Easter this year.

For us, since we are not Christians, Easter is a time for egg hunts and well, that's about it. Oh, and staying at home because almost all stores and restaurants are closed on that day. Sigh..

I tried getting my MIL who is a Christian to explain to Kat what Easter is all about, but she just looked blankly at her grandmother. Hahaha!

Anyways, the neighborhood association organized an Easter egg hunt. It was supposed to have been outdoors and has been postposed once already. But they moved it to the Saturday before Easter and had it indoors in Kat's elementary school hall instead.

But the hunt was still outdoors in the playground and it was still raining cats and dogs. But hunt we did. It was crazy!!! So many kids came out to hunt as well. So Chloe as a toddler could not fight the bigger kids in rushing for the eggs. She found an opened egg and was thrilled! That was her achievement of the day :-) Kat on the other hand rushed off in front of me, and was able to collect about 10 eggs in her basket. All she cared about was the candy she knew was in them...

There was also a jumpy house and face painting and balloons inside the hall. We only stayed for a bit and then headed out for brunch. Tried looking for an American breakfast place but ended up in a Chinese buffet place instead. Hey, it was only $10 for adults, with lots and lots of food e.g. chinese (of course), sushi, bbq grill to order, ice cream, etc...

We ended the Saturday at a kids birthday party at hubby's co-workers' house. He actually has 6 co-workers living in the area. He has so many choices when it comes to carpooling to work! But he doesn't :-)
