Moments to remember: 3 weeks old

Little Aiden is 3 weeks old.

Nothing much is different. The week has gone by in a blur of feedings, diaper changing, attempts to get him to sleep, and me sleeping in the most awkward positions.

Ah well... there was something different. We started him on the bottle. And am glad to say that he is taking the bottle well. Hooray! I was a little concerned that he might reject the bottle if I had waited any longer. I finally had time to read the hand-outs that Aiden's pediatrician had given us at his 3 day old check-up, and lo-and be-hold it stated that the recommended bottle are Dr. Brown's. After all my research on BPA free and etc bottles and going out shopping pre-labor for the Born Free bottles, I had to buy Dr. Brown's. I am so glad for shopping via the internet. Yay for Diapers.com! The bottles and more diapers arrived the very next day after I ordered them.

The bad news is that Aiden still won't take a pacifier. I bought the Born Free pacis (again after researching) and I think it's too big for his tiny little mouth. So I bought some preemie pacis from the internet after reading some good reviews about them, but Aiden still didn't like them. Sigh... I guess I would have to buy a couple more and see which one he likes. But for now, I am his human paci... He would gladly fall asleep nursing.

The weather has turned cold again. Really wierd, because a couple of weeks ago it was in the 70s degrees and this last 2 weeks it was only highs of 50s during the day. Yikes! And to top it off our furnance broke down. Sigh.. Thankfully we have portable space heaters.

The good news is that I went in to a mommy and me group meeting last Thursday, and Aiden now weighs 6lbs 8oz. Woohoo! Only half a pound more to the targeted 7 pounds. Will probably go again next Thursday to weigh him to make sure we are still on track.
