Some of you might be wondering how this pregnancy has been going so far.
Well, touch wood (because I am superstitious), everything has been going OK.
My energy level is not too bad, as long as I remember to drink extra fluids and to take my vitamin to get the extra iron needed.
It’s kind of been like my pregnancy with Kat with some differences. For example:
- I didn’t get the dark pregnancy belly line I had with both girls
- I haven’t gained as much weight as I did with previous pregnancies. Well, of course this is because I started off at a measly 110lbs with Kat and well, let’s just say I started off at a much larger number this time around. Hahaha!
- Probably a little bit more active this time around because I have been travelling for work, and walking a bit more to and from the office to my car. With Kat I was just lazing around the house.
- No particular craving for food. Just don’t really care for shrimp or mushrooms.
It hasn’t been like my pregnancy with Chloe because I was quite sick and tired during the first trimester. Work was really not fun then! And I only wanted Asian food like rice or noodles. No cheese for me then!
Other than that, I can’t remember any thing different. I don’t remember what the shape of my belly was like with the girls.
Hmm.. and of yes! Hubby has not been having food cravings unlike with the girls. In fact, he even bought a 2 year membership to a gym!! I was so impressed. Now let’s see whether he actually uses it. Haha!!! (Sorry dear but the golf clubs you bought are just collecting dust in the garage)
But I am watching what I eat a little bit more carefully because Chloe has food allergies. Apparently food allergies are genetic, so I have been trying not to take so much seafood items or even peanut butter. And I haven’t been eating bird’s nest soup at all this time, unlike with Chloe when I was having a bowl at least once a week.
Well, that is pretty much it, I guess. Nothing very exciting, which I guess is a good thing :-)

Hey, do you think the bird's nest, peanut butter and seafood was one of the reasons for Chloe's allergies? I did hear about the bird's nest part.
For my current one, I drank 3 times bird's nest, that's all. Thought I should be fair, and consume same amount as I did during Rachel's time. I hope I did not do something wrong!!!!!!
No, you didn't do anything wrong :)
I don't think Rachel has any food allergies or ezcema, right?
If you have no family history of it, I don't think you need to worry.
Was reading on you blog about your trip to Perth. How nice! We're thinking of going somewhere too before baby gets here, but seems to be too busy with work and school. Haha!
Not too sure about family history though, coz i have mild eczema once in a while, and while pregnant with Rachel, and now the boy, i have rashes.
Yah. Perth was good. It;s good to get away sometimes...:)
This is the first time I've heard abt bird's nest causing allergies in your unborn child.
Thing is, I have eczema too (childhood eczema but now only very mild in a few spots) but I took loads of bird's nest when I was pregnant with Nat. Probably once every 2 weeks.
If this is true, I definitely won't be taking any if I get pregnant again.
