Update for October

So Halloween is next week. Where did the month of October go???

In a span of a month:

- Chloe turned 6 months old

- Chloe started eating rice porridge, fruit and vege puree

- I stopped nursing her. It was a decision I made on the very day she turned 6 months because after 1 day of beautiful skin she got a flare-up, and the only additional thing I was eating was oats! Since she is starting to take solid food, we have to ensure that she only has one source of potential allergens to help pinpoint what she is actually allergic to. So my little baby actually lost weight over that weekend because she was only taking the bare minimum to keep herself from starving.

- Chloe started drinking Neocate - a hypoallergenic formula, imported in from the UK. It's so expensive (one can last her 3 days, and each can costs $35 from the manufacturer). but we only want the best for her. I have an appointment with a allergist next week, and will ask his opinion on whether I should try soy formula instead, since that is cheaper. was talking with a lady and she mentioned that soy allergy is mainly for Caucasians and not Asians since it has been in our diets for generations.

- Kat started to her Hooked on Phonics classes at school, and is actually reading! Hooray!! Its so fun watching her read her 'books' she brings back from school.


- Kat started to 'write'. She is attempting to write and though it's all wobbly and shaky she can write some letters from her name - 'H, A and T'

- Both girls are down with a cold. I got sick, then Kat had a fever on that very same day, and a couple of days later Chloe.
So Chloe is pretty miserable now. She is teething, feverish, and nose full of snot and so can't breath well. I will be so cranky too if that happened to me.

- Bought Chloe a Exersaucer because she cannot sit still. All she wants to do the whole day is bounce on your lap. But she still can't sit on her own yet.

- Chloe has separation anxiety. She constantly wants people around her. Even when she is playing with her toys.

- Chloe prefers me i.e. Mommy, over grandma or Daddy or any one else in that matter. She will turn away if I am carrying her and someone wants to carry her instead. Or she will cry if I pass by her and not carry her.

- Had family visiting from Malaysia. Kat had such a good time with them.

And now November is coming. So many events - Red Egg party, Halloween, Kat's friends' birthday parties, Kat's birthday, my birthday, Thanksgiving, buy Christmas presents, take our family Christmas photo, Christmas greeting cards.

Aiyaiyai.. I am getting a headache..
