I can fit into some of my pre-pregnancy work pants.
Whoopee!!
And these could not fit just 2 weeks ago.
Was trying them out today to figure out what items I actually need to buy before I start work next Friday. Yes.. my 4 months maternity leave ends then. Sigh....
I weighed myself too and I am back at my pre-pregnancy weight. Well, before Chloe that is. But it still a long way to go to my weight before I had Kat. My brother will say that I look so 'Aunty' nowadays.
So I have made an appointment with my hair stylist for a cut, color and highlight. Yay!
And then it's off to Bare Escentuals to get some makeup, which I am desperately in need of.
The dark circles around my eyes is looking pretty bad. But I've always had them anyways.
Chloe still wakes up about twice during the night for feeding. But since I am going back to work, I don't mind it because its just more time for me to hold her. She goes to bed between 8 and 9pm, and then wakes up again between 1-2am and then again between 5 and 6am.
And I will have to wake up at 6am when I start work because I got to get ready for work, pump some milk, get Kat ready for school, and then send her off to school. Ah, and then I have to get my lunch and snacks ready too.
As I have mentioned before, Chloe has eczema. And it has gotten pretty bad. To the point, her eyes have swelled up due to her constant rubbing of her eyelids.
We do not know what the trigger is, and so for the last couple of days I have been trying to eliminate all potential allergen from my diet. I am read the nutrition label of all processed food at home. And also just realized that Milo has milk in it, the bread I have been eating has milk, soy sauce counts as a soy product, as well as oyster sauce is very potent for people with shellfish allergies.
For infants the main allergens are eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, soy, fish, shellfish and wheat. And from what I have read, some kids are also allergic to tomatoes and beef.
Chloe rashed up after I had a big plate of spaghetti with Bolognese sauce. Is it the beef, tomatoes, wheat, egg in the pasta, Worcester sauce?????
So in order to find out what I can or cannot eat (since I am still breastfeeding), I am now basically eating only salads with vinaigrette dressing, with some meat like poached chicken breast or ham, and of course fruits. Just bought some vegetarian oyster sauce last evening, so MIL can now cook some Chinese dishes for me.
I went to the local health food stores and stocked up on egg replacer (to make muffins etc), wheatless pancake mix, eggless wheatless pasta, wheatless brown rice bread (which taste I have to really get used to), wheatless gluten-free cereal, rice milk (in replacement of cow's milk and soy milk). I am still looking for rice milk based ice cream. I hope Whole Foods carry them. Wish there was one near our place..
Yesterday night I thought MIL cooked the pork with the vegetarian oyster sauce and so ate a tiny piece. Then she told me that it was marinated earlier during the day with regular oyster sauce. I also had some wheatles, eggless crackers, which I later realized that it was made with soy flour. And guess what? Chloe's face which was better yesterday afternoon, got red and rashy again this morning. Sigh.... Definitely have to watch what I eat.
So probably no more lunches out when I start work. Well, that should be good for my waistline and my wallet too, I guess.

Hey Eileen, my dark circles are horrible as well...it's not avoidable with a baby, I guess...my secret now is...CONCEALER EVERYDAY!!!!!
Poor Chloe...
Wow! you're so disciplined, not like myself. No wonder you've lost all the pregnancy and confinement weight.
Me? I still have a long way to go.
I know I should be more careful about my diet for Nat's sake due to the eczema but it's really hard here. I also noticed that if I don't eat much, my milk supply drops.
So far, only cutting down on cow's milk, nuts and prawns. What are tree nuts? I've been taking soy milk though.. maybe that's the allergen for Nat.
Hi all..
Cheng Chin - Yup.. concealer is a BIG must
Mel - A majority of babies allergic to cow's milk are actually allergic to soy too. So maybe try cutting that out of your diet and see whether that helps. But the problem with soy is that it is in so much products and food which are not obvious, e.g. soy sauce, tau cheong, soy flour, coy oil, etc..
Heard from Yin that clendula oil helps Nat's skin. Do you put it on as a cream or the oil itself?
Tree nuts are things like almonds, pecans.

Just by reading that article it seems that sesame seed is also an allergen!
