Back to work

It’s now my 2nd week back at the office. My first week back certainly flew by. Whew!

It was a never ending cycle of meetings, and sneaking away to pump, and then figuring what to eat for lunch and snacks, and rushing back to pick up Kat before I get charged $1 a minute! I’m still not caught up with the admin stuff that I need to do by this Thursday. And not to mention the stuff to do at home, that is being backlogged. The laundry pile is starting to look like a mountain. And I will need to go back home tonight to vacuum because we were too busy going out and had people stay with us during the weekend.

But overall it has been good. I’m lucky I got back to the client that I was with before I went on maternity leave. And there is flexibility on this engagement, such that as long as I meet my client’s needs, e.g. don’t cancel any meeting, I’m OK to come in either a little bit later or leave earlier. With high speed internet at home, we are welcome to work from home.

But golly, I have so many bags to carry up to the 3rd floor. I have my office laptop, my client assigned laptop, my breast-pump, my lunch and snacks, and my handbag. I definitely need to get a roller laptop bag. My shoulder is killing me!

Chloe is OK without me during the day. But she gets super excited when I get back, and demands that I pick her up to hold. She will start complaining if I say hi to her, and not pick her up J And even after I pick her up, she will still be complaining. It is the funniest thing ever!

And definitely come 7.30pm, she will only want me. It’s her bedtime and she’s so used to me putting her to sleep. Which I love, but this is really limiting our social life. Hubs asked me to go to a dinner and dance thing with him, but I said no because I know my little one will be crying her heart out looking for me. So hubs had to give some excuse to his boss. I wonder what it was?

Alrighty, got to get back to work. Have to make sure the latest I leave here at 5.30pm.
Am blogging this during lunch time. So will write again during tomorrow lunch hour :-)

It's really tough juggling the kids and work AND a decent social life, isn't it? I salute you...!

Yup.. just doing the best that I can :-)

So to the question on how I pump at work:
I sneak down to the Ladies Locker room about every 3 hours, or I will sneak it in around my meetings. Luckily there is a ladies changing room or even a Moms' room in every buiding here.So no - i do not get engorged

I can clean or sterilize my equipment with some products from Medela. Very convenient. I use them to go travelling too. I like the wipes and the quick steam micro-clean bags
