Almost been a month since my last update..

Hmm.. well, not quite a month, but almost there :-)

I am now officially on my maternity leave. Woohoo! 2 weeks off before my due date

I am so grateful that I work for a company who encourages and endorses work place flexibility.
I am getting fully paid for 14 of the 20 weeks of maternity leave, whilst the other 6 weeks I will be getting approx 60% of pay from the state. I am also glad that we live here in California, if not, I would not be getting that last 6 weeks mentioned.

Mom-in-law is here. She got in on Wednesday morning.
And she has been helping around the house already.
Hubby and I are not particularly neat people, so mom has been helping us keep the house looking a little tidier :-)

Kat is loving the extra attention from grandma.
She has been asking not to go to school because I think she knows the baby is coming.
Well, firstly she noticed that I'm not changing into my work clothes or wearing my security tag, and so therefore I'm not going to work! So why does she have to go to school???

Ah.. we'll see how it is when baby gets here.

So, updates on the baby preparations:

  1. The crib has been set up
  2. Baby clothes washed
  3. Chinese herbs bought
  4. Baby diapers bought (well, only 1 pack, so need to buy more)
  5. Hospital bag packed (my stuff.. hubby insists he can pack his stuff later)
  6. Insurance & state disability claims submitted
  7. After birth medications bought
  8. Car seat set up
  9. Nursing clothes bought (well, need to buy more)
  10. Charged the digital camera and cleared memory stick

So now for the list of things that still need to be done:

  1. Buy sterilizer - Could not find it any where!
  2. Buy bouncer - Also could not find
  3. Sterilize baby bottles and breast pump parts
  4. Learn how to use breast pump (It's a new one I received, which the company sponsored)
  5. Buy and send off thank you cards to friends who has sent us gifts already
  6. Decide on baby's name (I know.. this should be #1 on the to-do list)
  7. Buy 2 little basins to use (Mom asked for them)
  8. Learn how to use the baby sling (Thank you, Mel!)
  9. Get the baby bassinet from Michael and Soo's place. They generously offered to loan it to us so that baby can sleep in our room for the first couple of weeks
  10. Do some personal shopping :-)
  11. Misc office things to complete by month end

Hmm... that's about what I can think of. Anything else, you think? Let me know...
